A Bridge of Morrison County
This bridge sits tucked away in the woods and spans a little tributary of the mighty Mississippi. It is old and unused except for foot traffic and the occasional ATV. It's one of those features that you drive by practically every day and never know about it.

The person who commissioned the drawing had special childhood recollections of this bridge, so my approach to the picture was to present it so that it would evoke those memories.

I chose the severe angle because it made for the best composition. I was able to emphasize the perspective of the bridge and angles of the iron work. It also allowed for the rendering of a horizontal bridge to be in a vertical picture, giving it an added element of uniqueness.
