A winding road leading off into the distance suggests the title. But I think this drawing is more about the trees, which define the composition, contrast and texture of the picture. This was a difficult drawing to declare finished. The dark areas could always be a little darker, the light areas always needed more definition. At last, a balance was achieved to my liking and it was finished.
