This old, dead tree was one that I passed by practically every day. It stood by
the side of the road against a backdrop of meadows. I suppose you could read into this drawing
all kinds of interpretations about death, loneliness, etc. (At one time, I even titled
it "Sadness Is Replaced By Joy") But in the final analysis,
I did this drawing mainly because I liked the shape and form of the tree and how
shadows defined it.
